AUTUMN IS HERE

AUTUMN IS HERE

After kissing the summer season goodbye, say hi to... Autumn!

Yes! Autumn is here, and there is something for everyone to fall in love with when Autumn rolls around, the foliage, the smells, the crisp breeze, the comforting food and of course, wine! Savouring fall's many robust flavours is one of the things we usually look forward to most about Autumn, right?

I really enjoy cooking up a hearty dish at home and serving it alongside something equally delicious! With this Autumn Wine Case, I'm rounding up my favourite fall flavours, matching them with a nice bottle of wine. A mix of six wines will be the best pairing for the start of this season.

Grab your sweater, your corkscrew and your favourite glass, and let's get cosy!

My first wine on this list is:

1-Blank Bottle Master of None 2020

A Delicious Blend of Chenin Blanc, Cinsault, Grenache Noir, Palomino, Pinot Noir, Master of None is super bright and juicy, bursting with wild strawberry and cherry. This is coupled with an earthy, smoky undercurrent.

Pair with: A lovely chicken dish like roasted butternut squash and chicken thighs.. yummy!

2.-Brewcru Pinot Noir 2020

This opulent style of Pinot Noir shows prominent aromas of wild cherries and strawberries with baking spice undertones. With a textured palate and silky tannin, cranberry and boiled sweets make way to truffle and dark chocolate notes followed by a fresh and vibrant finish.

Pair with: Brew Cru Pinot Noir could be the perfect match for a Sweet Potato Shepherd's Pie!

3.-Bosman Cabernet Sauvignon

I propose a superb Cab with a beautiful mouthfeel with a long fruit-crammed and a persistent finish.

Pair with: An excellent Beef or Steak.

4.-Bodegas Taron Crianza Rioja Alta

This Tempranillo has a palate with subtle oak and smoked notes combined with delicious fresh redcurrant and cherry fruits.

Pair with: Mushrooms! They make a great snack grilled and layered on top of garlic toast. They are perfectly paired with Rioja from Bodegas Taron.

5.-Philip Shaw 'The Dreamer'

This Viognier is light straw yellow in colour with hues of green. Fresh apricots and violets on the nose with lifts of lemon. With a bright and fresh, vivid acid and juicy fruit palate. The balance of fruit and acid gives the wine depth and vibrancy.

Pair with: For anything pumpkin, you'll want an aromatic Viognier, and for me, this new guest in our shop, it will just be perfect!

6. -The Liberator Chenin No.5

Honestly, this is one of my favourites. This wine is definitely is world-class, and it packs a tasty punch, which is what we need at this time of year. With some tangy weight and creaminess, cantaloupe melon and white peach aromas followed by apricot, honey and dried pineapple. Very very good.

Pair with: Perfect match for Chicken or Thai Cuisine!

Cheers to a successful season with excellent wine, fantastic food and good company :)
